Annual Toys for Tots Fundraiser a Success

Toys for Tots is a national organization sponsored by the Marine Corps. It is an annual drive to collect toys for families who cannot afford toys for their children on Christmas. The National Honor Society at our very own school helped collect donations and raised more than $4,500 for Toys for Tots.

“All of our NHS members are supposed to be involved with philanthropy,” National Honor Society sponsor, Ms. Jackie Plaia, says.

The members also sold Toys for Tots t-shirts, accomplishing a goal and selling over 80 shirts, raising $350 for the fundraiser in addition to their previous earnings.

“We spent over $4,500 on toys for the children; it was really good” Kristin B, senior in NHS said. “It was very much a success and I’m very proud of the NHS for their hard work and dedication” Ms. Plaia added.

Not only did the NHS have a great experience this year, but more children will be having their very own Christmas. Happy Holidays!
