With a turnout of around 500 people the past couple years, the Sadie Hawkins dance at Oak Mountain has been an, “optional opportunity for a winter activity. It gives students something to do during a saturday night,” explained SGA Sponsor John Milton.

The dance was February 11th at the Pelham Civic Center from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. The theme of this year’s Sadie’s was Swing the Night Away with swing dancing being the main part of the night. This idea was created by the committee of school dances headed by the SGA at Oak Mountain.

At the dance there was a live band named the Undergrounders.
Also at the dance there were refreshments with snacks and drinks. Sadie’s was meant to be a time for students to enjoy each other. “Each year we try to improve Sadie Hawkins to be better the next year!” added Milton.
