The Birmingham Area Mock Trial Invitational, or BAMTI, was March 18th and 19th at Hoover High School. We had two teams compete in the trials, a younger team and older team consisting of six total team members. Each team had three witnesses and three attorneys.

Patrick Daniels, a member of the mostly senior team said, “It was a cohesive, well organized, filled with long hours and late nights, but completely worth it!”

Luke Rakers, the captain of the older Mock trial team for Oak Mountain, said, “Our younger team has a strong stating basis, and I think they will excel throughout the coming years. It was a great opportunity, being the first area trial ever held. The competition was really good. Highly competitive overall.”

Both Oak Mountain teams finished in the top ten out of over sixteen teams from schools throughout the Birmingham, such as Spain Park, Indian Springs, and Hoover.
