The Homecoming pep rally was held on September 27 to pump up players and fans before the big game Friday night. The pep rally started with noise, cheers, and chants to get everyone excited to lead their team to victory.

The football captains made small speeches, then the games began. Participants played games including Heroball, Clothes Pin Contest, Scooter Relay, and Dizzy Izzy Relay followed by a spirit competition.

Mrs. Doyle presented this year’s teacher of the year; Mr. Jim Moore. Congratulations Mr. Moore!

The OMHS Starlette dance team performed followed by majorette, Reins Tarpley, who both did a phenomenal job.

Shortly after, float winners and homecoming week class winners were announced. The seniors not only won the high score for the float, but won the whole entire week of homecoming. Congratulations seniors!

The teachers busted out their moves performing dances and skits, and finally the pep rally concluded with the Alma Mater led by the choir. Sophomore Jordan Moran said, “I love the band chants! They’re really fun to dance to, and I love to cheer on the team, especially when we win! The crowd is so pumped up.”

Although all week classes had been competing with their floats, how many cans they could donate, and even how well they dressed, the Class Unity Day and pep rally brought the OMHS students together to compete against Pell City with a fight. The Eagles brought home another victory! Go Eagles and we hope everyone had a great homecoming week!
