With seniors graduating in less than a month, college is on everyone’s mind. Some students have already been accepted by the college of their dreams. Some students will be attending universities whereas others will be attending community colleges. Either way, seniors are excited to be on their own and be the independent people they have been trying to be. As tradition our school has a long banner with all of the seniors first and last names on it. Students will write in what college they will be attending.

For one student in particular, that college is Harvard University. This is a huge honor to him. Armeen Barghi has been accepted by Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Dartmouth, John Hopkins, Duke, Penn Columbia, Brown, and UAB EMSAP (Early Medical School Acceptance Program). He chose Harvard because he wanted to be able to conduct scientific research in college. “Harvard offers unparalleled mentorship opportunities under world-renowned faculty. Also, Cambridge is a vibrant city filled with individuals dedicated to help students flourish academically and socially.”

A few other students spoke about where they are going to college. Levi Long, senior at OMHS, will be attending Drew College with a scholarship to play soccer. He will be starting August 4th of 2017. Evie Summers will be attending Samford University, “to put God first in all situations.” She will be attending on a Legacy Scholarship.

We wish these seniors the best of luck at college!
